WHAT IS THE MULE?_
The M.U.L.E. is a user propelled wheeled assembly comprising a harness unit attached to a user worn frame. This user worn frame is pivotally attached to an elongated load bearing frame which has a retractable support stand and a wheel. The retractable support stand allows the M.U.L.E. to stand alone while being loaded. The stand also allows the user to walk-into, or walk-out-of the M.U.L.E. harness with ease. The M.U.L.E. is further provided with independent first and second brakes. One brake is used while the user with the harnessed M.U.L.E. is in motion while the other is used to lock the wheel while the M.U.L.E. is in the stand-alone mode. The user can kneel, lie prone, and maneuver in any manner without releasing the M.U.L.E.. The most important attribute that the M.U.L.E. contributes is the ability to carry an increased load with great ease. The rule of thumb is the doubling of the users carrying capacity. If the user can backpack 35 pounds, he or she can now carry 70 using the M.U.L.E.. This gives persons with smaller backpack capacity the carrying capacity of larger persons. The M.U.L.E. operates over even and uneven terrain with ease, following the user's track. The tire is made of a solid material which eliminates a flat tire condition. The frame is made of light-weight materials which yields an efficient load-to-user weight factor of approximately two-to-one. The harness is easily adjusted, simply donned and quickly separated from the user. Comfort pads are uncomplicated and can be adjusted to the most comfortable positions for the individual user's preferences. The M.U.L.E. adjusts to a user height range from 5'4" to 6'4" in order to provide the user with an efficient load bearing capacity.
